Time for a Change

Time for a Change

You can kill it but it never dies.
It drags and flies.
We waste it in youth and horde it in age.
Wetting our fingers as we turn duration's page.
Remembering that all eternity's a stage.
I'm broke when I have all of it in the world and rich when I have none.
It's only over when the fat lady's crooning is done.
With each passing day, I add another notch.
Marking life's equinox.
Unable to tell one from another because I don't own a darned watch.
The way it marches on is chronologically strange.
Borderline deranged.
All I know is that it's...
... time for a change ...
