God's Back Porch

God's Back Porch

Thunder is good, thunder is impressive; but it is lightning that does the work. - Mark Twain

I like to watch thunderstorms.
See them coming and going.
Front row seat.
As Heaven breaks Hell's heat.
Kicking and screaming.
Faith and hope dreaming.
It's like witnessing a divine tantrum.
Dark ominous clouds.
Crackling power.
The wind and the flood.
Tears of redemption flowing.
Clearing his throat.
Reaching an intense climax.
Everything's renewed.
You can breathe the freshness and taste the truth.
Regaining the innocence of youth.
Eternity is washed virgin again for you and for me.
And the ticket is free.
Lightning flashing like a Genesis torch.
Sittin' and rockin' on ...
...God's back porch ...

true enough.. enjoyed even more now....
Very descriptive and contemplative on the power of the Divine and the forces he employs in the natural world. I like the light humor within too. We can really taste the truth.

I love the metaphor here.. a thunderstorm being "a divine tantrum".
