On The "Write" Track

Like a Petticoat Junction.
Utilizing all rhyme and function.
A cannonball express.
Without having to clean up the mess.
Barreling down and pulling in.
A hand grenade without the all important pin.
Making all scheduled stops.
From valley lows to mountain tops.
Time moves like a runaway train.
Exacting first class feeling and unaffordable pain.
Passing through darkness of tunnel and light of day.
A constant reminder that there is no other way.
"All aboard" warns as it leaves destiny's station.
A ticket aboard the iron horse of creation.
Today takes center stage in a curtain call and bows for the final act.
'Til tomorrow lays down an encore of ...
... yet more track ...

"I would rather sit on a pumpkin and have it all to myself than be crowded on a velvet cushion. I would rather ride on earth in an ox cart, with a free circulation, than go to heaven in the fancy car of an excursion train and breathe a malaria all the way." - Thoreau
