There's a place I often go.
Where innocence rules.
Empty and void of life's fools.
Where faith comforts like a three-legged stool.
Candles burn an undeniable vigil forever.
Because God's angels are steadfast and clever.
Truth is the only tree that grows.
Even Hell knows.
The uncompromisable purity of children governs.
There is no sin.
No lies or punishment.
A place of refuge.
Where Heaven's immutable branches grow huge.
Because the roots are deep.
Although the slope is steep.
Amidst life's sweeping deluge.
Choirs of cherubs drown hurt's pain.
Their sorrow washing like rain.
Reading verses from the almighty's very hymnal.
High up on an immutable knoll.
A place where I am whole.
If only ...
... atop my soul ...
