Leave It BeA Poem by PeteCowards suffer, heroes enjoy. - ThoreauNo stone unturned. Cruel lessons learned. There are no words. As wronged lips tremble with incoherent curses. Lying in the backs of double-parked hearses. Demons in despair stammer and mutter. In Hell's unswept gutter. No judge or jury to make things right. For that which transpires in a suffering heart. As torn worlds fall apart. Earthly and unexpected. Haphazardly and disconnected. Reason's autopsy can only be performed by tearing apart a living gut. Where the sea and shore abut. Lies roll in and out with truth's tide. Along for the ride. Harbored in man's fallen pride. Opening forbidden doors Starting unstoppable wars. Destiny takes temporary refuge in the safety of a shoal. The authentic jewels of life need no protecting. No lock and key. For that which swims freely inside. Even if against the tide. Against you and me. Where blind eyes see. So, damn it, ... ... leave it be ... © 2019 PeteAuthor's Note
