The VerdictA Poem by PeteI have, as it were, my own sun and moon and stars, and a little world all to myself. - ThoreauNight stole away. Just to abscond with its livid way. Not wanting black or white but gray. So it pled its case with day. With the usual, argumentative sway. Two relentless lawyers gone astray. Ice crystals packed the courtroom. In a class action of impending doom. After a fortnight of divine deliberation, Mother Nature's decision finally came back. With creation's unequivocal gavel smack. Like morning frost on a windshield. The verdict signed and sealed. Delivered from the balcony overlooking the moon's innocent, courtroom show. Not guilty ... ... you are free to glow ... © 2019 PeteAuthor's Note
