Stayin' AliveA Poem by Pete"Live your beliefs and you can turn the world around." - ThoreauShe drew the curtain behind her as she stepped into the confessional. Kneeling, she made the sign of the cross with her right hand. In the name of the father, the son and the holy ghost. She finished the benediction by adorning her fingers with a kiss. Knowing full well that, 'U Can't Touch This'. She began. Bless me father, for I have sinned. When I'm alone in my room I sometimes dance the Macarena. I 'Give It Up'. Playing on an 'Electric Slide'. I engage in 'Risky Business', busting a move in my underpants. Playing a mean air guitar whilst I prance. I had an encounter with some 'Werewolves of London' I'm in dire need of 'Lawyers, Guns and Money'. These are my sins. Please absolve me father. It's just so entrancing. When I'm dancing. I want the most. In the name of the father, the son and the holy ghost. God is my captain, guiding me closer to home. As I try to make my way, alone. Oh please father, I ain't talkin' no jive. I'm just tryin' to ... ... stay alive ... © 2018 PeteAuthor's Note
