Alone.
My cover blown.
I warmed myself beside his fire.
At the midnight hour.
When things were most dour.
Destiny does not consume.
In Heaven's womb.
That's precisely when night becomes day.
When you're about to ...
... run away ...

Excellent poem; your imagery was great, and I really enjoyed reading it. A poem doesn't have to be elaborate to be beautiful or powerful, and this piece proved it; every word helped paint a rich, vivid picture. I loved Thoreau's quotes in the summary and author's note as well; that was a perfect touch.

Keep up the good work!
