Forever a prisoner of civilization. So many locks and no keys. Long nights and last rights. A funeral held in perpetuity. Cobra sways a wicker basket dance. Wind and parched lips join together. Harmonizing sacred prayers like prophetic jibberish. Echoing across the empty desert. Never reaching the ears of the almighty. Kneeling on a Persian rug. Incense burns. Amidst drums and chants. Heart clutched in bony hands. Wringing out oppression. Head banging against limestone walls. Held up by ancient pillars of lies. Villagers climb to the top for a better view. They've nothing better to do. Man's vicious steel wrapped around my limbs. Forged by a fallen creation. Long since run out of words.
