More Oft than Not

More Oft than Not

Lines drawn in the sand.
Saying never.
Tomorrow comes.
A new day dawns.
Dreams retire.
Long-buried seeds of remorse begin to sprout.
A sullen whisper becomes a shout.
Promises to ourselves we forgot.
... More oft than not ...

Your poem seems to be gentle & understanding toward the human affliction lately being criticized (often) as hypocrisy. If only our thinking could be this rational as we watch so many politicians selling us a load of fake. I must read your message as pertaining to the frailties that plague everyday relationships, giving ultimatums & then giving in. I love your title, again adding to the gentle demeanor of your observations (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Very cool image, Pete. It integrated well with the dimension of your words, and the song made it all the more cohesive.

Nice poem. Expressed wonderfully. Sometimes having the faith to believe is overpowering. And makes you weak in your own faith. And you drown. In negativity. Even thou try to hold on with both hands. To faith, hope and a new tomorrow.
