Tapestry

Wizards and warlocks wield their wayward wands.
Pathological poets point and click to order more paradoxical parables online.
Politicians, preachers and priests put on their Pampers and Poligrip.
They take selfies as they twirl a cornucopia of cell-phones and empty promises like drum-majorettes with batons.
Juggling jargon in a juggernaut of jocularity.
Smiling and passing gas in the name of self-preservation.
Piss-soaked vagrants and vagabonds march by in a parade of paradise.
Cloaked in degradation and fortuitousness.
Waving tattered banners of faith.
Harbingers of humanity with harmonicas.
God's undercover angels.
Waiting to bed down in the alley of purgatory.
Seduced and surrounded by a plethora of unreachable fire escapes.
Smoke detector is screaming.
The bartender of diabolical darkness mixes up yet another devious batch of suffering b******s.
Stirring and swirling a sacrilegious swizzle stick.
Martyred moths dance around the porch light of heaven.
The almighty leans back on his throne as he takes out his needles and yarn to knit tomorrow.
Another tantalizing, timeless ...
... tapestry ...

"If we cannot sing of faith and triumph, we will sing our despair. We will be that kind of bird. There are day owls, and there are night owls, and each is beautiful and even musical while about its business." - Thoreau

You tease out diabolical darkness better than anyone I’ve seen writing anything. Your alliteration is stretched to such limits, yet never feeling as if a certain word choice has been reached for. You manage to craft wild phrases of lyrical madness that describe our chaotic world as it descends into a very dark place, yet your overall message feels tongue-in-cheek & gives us a chance to laugh about how ridiculous things are getting. It’s your occasional flippant word choices in the midst of a massive drama flow that makes these rants so funny to me (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I think Dee gave this the acknowledgement it richly deserves by saying "you kick a*s". I overwhelmingly second that emotion!

Wow, Pete, you kick a*s! Right into touch. With this epic no bullshit, straight to the facts and points. Poetically none correct free flowing funny at times. A true view of politicians around us all.

Yikes. LOL, but seriously I really enjoyed the alliteration in this piece and the harsh, yet true message your clearly portray. I found the ending to be superb. Loved it.
