Bittersweet

Abandon's arrow points both ways.
Nonchalant compass needle complains.
Good dances a tango with bad.
Different colored roses clutched in their stern mouths.
Impervious to thorns.
Day kisses night like a wayward lover.
Diamond rings glisten on crooked fingers.
Is the tide in or out?
What is that which gives life meaning?
Brings destiny and rights wrongs?
Even tears dry in the sun.
For better or worse, songs of the heart cannot be silenced.
Blind truth plays a peekaboo game of hide and seek.
Cold, clever carnality dances in broad daylight.
Religious relics hide in the shadows.
Honey glistens and drips from a stung soul.
Heartache runs a mostly marathon.
Worn shoes can still win races.

Love is tossed like another log on the fire.
Gold is sifted from sadistic silt.
I stand at the crossroads.
Carefully looking both ways before stepping out.
Colloquial collisions cannot be avoided.
With the assurance of the almighty.
The wind at my back.
Purpose eclipsed by survival.
Parched lips smoke a peace pipe of plurality.
Bucking broncos twirl a belligerent ballet.
Wild stallions can be lassoed and ridden.
Seashells echo the ocean for eternity.
Today is yesterday's tomorrow.
Coronary confections are ...
... bittersweet ...
