Author's Note

Pete
"And now that we have returned to the desultory life of the plain, let us endeavor to import a little of that mountain grandeur into it. We will remember within what walls we lie, and understand that this level life too has its summit, and why from the mountain-top the deepest valleys have a tinge of blue; that there is elevation in every hour, as no part of the earth is so low that the heavens may not be seen from, and we have only to stand on the summit of our hour to command an uninterrupted horizon." - Thoreau

just one line of the poem speaks it all full of depth and certainty with the words used. life can be interpreted like that even in the moment of joy and glory, there are times that there are breaks to be able to ponder why loneliness and pain exist. this is only my own interpretation my friend.

thank you al. kind of you to say ... :)
Your every word carries much weight, Pete. You should feel proud to exalt such a range of emotion in your reader, and not worry yourself with what it is missing in length. You continually surprise and delight me. Thank you!

Pete,
"Rapture"
This was inspiring and educational all in one. I typed in the first line of above caption and discovered " A walk to Waschusett" Thoreau; a first for me. Anything like this is important to be able to put in perspective the similarity of those who have lived before us. Rapture's image at top is very meaningful to me. I sure do appreciate your posting this!
Blessings,
Kathy
