Deep in a dark forest.

Down by the sullen, swollen sea.

Wandering the desert.

Stung by the serpent.

More than I can bear.

Baptized in a bonfire of vanities.

Girding up my loins.

Cloaked in darkness.

Tormented by truth.

No need to ask for whom the bell tolls.

Many times, your pieces are chock-full of word-crafting & word-play with sounds & alliteration, etc. This one seems a little less "worked over" (I can say it this way becuz I'm guilty of it, too). I've been trying to relax my word-crafting . . . & to me, this piece of yours seems more relaxed, too. It seems like I'm paying more attention to your message than your stunning cleverness & this causes me to be more introspective as I try to process what you're saying here.
