TaciturnityA Poem by PeteSometimes there are no words. Feelings glow like embers in a fire. Emotions etched in indelible impudence. Yet another log on the funeral pyre. Smoldering shamefully for eternity. Millenniums melt like hot candle wax. Running down with ratcheting reticence. Mourning in darkness. 'Til tears tarrow and run dry. Dripping for infinity from windows of the soul like acid rain. Insufficient for the task. You can go home again but to no avail. What was, is. Chests heave under the weight of generations. Wandering the course, crooked roads of pergatory. Dressed in fermenting frowns. Buried in unmarked graves. We carry on, bearing the crosses of the past. Hands pressed together with the preponderance of faith. Begging for breezes to carry. With ever a watchful eye on tomorrow ...
