Saturday Succubus

Saturday Succubus

A Poem by Pete
"

A subtle satire. Things aren't always as they appear. This has a crosscurrent of meanings running through it, so take it for what it's worth. You interpret.

"
Lilith (John Collier painting).jpg
She came to me in my dreams.
During a paralyzing slumber of contemporary culture.
A nocturnal, etymological emission.
Supernatural seductress lying in bed.
A figment of fascinating, female folklore.
Fanciful femme fatale.
An eclectic, egregious enchantress.
Mesmerizing maiden.
Queen of the demons.
Unjust underdweller.
Procreating, parasitic, pandemic.
Dripping with unnatural desires and deception.
Akin to the contemporary phenomenon of an alien abduction.
Throwback to a Medieval Medusa.

She was not what she appeared.
A coital cavern of ice in actuality.
Product of heinous, hellacious hallucination.
Purposefully sinful.
Faithful to society.
A tormenting, terminal temptress.
Insincere siren.
Able to overthrow even men of the cloth.
Sporting debilitating, deft, demonic deformities.
Captivating, bird-like claws and a slithering, serpentine tail.
Representing realistic, recreational, relational regret.
A schizophrenic superstition.
A Saturday succubus ...

' A schizophrenic, superstition. ~ A Saturday Succubus ... ' Thank goodness for the day of rest!

Smiling, though shouldn't, at the flow of phrases, an almost serpentine, sensuous honey-ness of language! Clever stuff, that. Your writing really climbs the brickwork then slides seductively down it. Those goings-on really give women a bad name!

The reality is not the same of the myth. Neither as powerful nor as weak, not Madonna or w***e.
But somewhere in between, where reality intrudes upon fantasy and eclipses it with humanity.

Powerfully, majestically, and wonderfully done ... Tragically, there are real life sucubus' just waiting to drain the life out of a man given the magical and mystically evil opportunity ... When a man sleeps, he is pretty much utterly defenseless in a nightmare he likely has no wish to awaken from ... Great writing ...!

good insight and thoughtful review sir. appreciated.
i felt like i was tempted to drink the poisonous chalice, after being mesmerized by the photo of beauty for a few minutes cos i'd seen her before, i proceeded to read your wonderful words of enchantment, apart from the excellent work i realised i'm married to one, a good woman of course. this read like 50 alluring ways to tempt you to the female form but beware the bite. seriously this was excellent pete. now back to that photo that has relaxation qualities of omg!

I think she has perfect meter and rhyme and I'd like to give her a haiku! ;)
