Have You Ever?

Have You Ever?

A Poem by Pete

Image result for the joy of god

Have you ever danced in Heaven?
Rolled the dice and it came up seven?
Ridden a wave that never seemed to stop?
Felt the sun on your face on a cold winter's day?
Walked through a fragrant garden and inhaled life from the plants?
Watched the clouds assembling before a storm and parting afterwards?
Seen the vapor rising from hot asphalt that's been baking in the sun all day just after a midsummer's rain shower?
Caressed yourself with a cool breeze on a warm day?
Watched colorful leaves being swept up by an autumn wind?
Stared up at a deep, indigo sky?

Have you ever woken up and said today is mine?
Gone for a walk and felt like the world was yours?
Skied down a mountain on a glistening, white carpet?
Skipped stones on a pond and seen their ripples?
Watched children playing in a schoolyard at recess and heard the sound of their giggles?
Sat and eaten ice cream with a child as they get it all over themselves?
Tapped your foot to a song and hummed its melody as it permeates your soul to its core?
Petted a cat and felt its peaceful purring?
Looked at another person while your heart fluttered and you gasped for breath?
Achieved a goal that you sweated and toiled for?

Have you ever felt unconditional love?
Looked above your head and seen a white dove?
Have you ever ...

Here is certainly a list of beautiful life experiences that are coveted by the wise, and enviable, although most of the world is grasping for what they believe to be grander things. Sorrowful to not acquire such moments, but worse, to not valuable them web they are granted. I hope you are blessed to have and cherish them all :) I.I.

I have, I have.. and every day I look for more and pray and hope for more!

What a wonderful poem, full of scenes wrapped in the gentles, happiest emotions.. in a way, tis like a prayer or ancient writing, perhaps.. a lesson for folk to understand and seek.

Will read a third time,

Very very beautiful Pete...This line is something I enjoyed reading again and again.

"Watched the clouds assembling before a storm and parting afterwards?"

And yes, I did feel unconditional love. And the greater unconditional love is not to cling on to that feeling too long that you forget feeling love for yourself. I like it so much.
