Faith

Faith

A Poem by Pete
"

Wavering faith, despair, questioning.

"

Is my life a blessing or is it a curse?
Perhaps I belong in the back of a hearse.
Nature is truth and  man is a lie.
I tried to reach up and touch the sky.

I cried my tears 'til there were no more.
I stared at the ocean and walked by it's shore.
I tried my best but it wasn't enough.
In the end, life's the one of who was tough.

I pleaded with God but he turned a deaf ear.
The demons took over and crushed me with fear.
The greatest things in life cannot be taken from you.
Your beliefs and your word must always stand true.

My faith was strong like steel; in God I did trust.
But the hurt was too much and tears turned it to rust.
I can't walk on water and I can't conquer sin.
His boat's always there; I just need to climb back in . . .

Your rhyme schemes are so flawless its so awesome haha.
I loved this poem, so much meaning, its so deep and its a soul searching piece.
It is hard with what happens in life sometimes to still have such faith and belief in god that is true.
Although even when you do start to loose faith its true god is always there for you, and you can come back to him whenever you want.

The poem is sad, but it ends with a solution, so that's hopeful. It's always sad to me to see people who struggle with their personal faith. It's like they're lost in an ocean. The question "is life a blessing or a curse" could be looked at one of 2 ways. Either we cry because the rose bush has thorns, or rejoice because the thorn bush has roses. It's all in how you look at it I guess. *cyber-hug*

Easier said than done but true nevertheless. Thanks for the read Silver.
Some very astute observations of pain and hopelessness drawn on in this piece I think, perhaps with a note of optimism right at the end? Raw, honest and engaging.

A taste of what we go through as individuals who struggle in the faith walk. A journey that is a struggle and a life with phases of uncertainty. The power to get back in....inspirational, great work

" I pleaded with God but he turned a deaf ear." If there's a god, then by that line he knows why I won't follow him. But...Looking at my own short life, and around everywhere...there's no solid proof of his existence...but there's still no proof that there's nothing beyond this life, these bodies...there's the big unexplored dark room, full of unanswered questions. So gods existence is debatable, between sceptics and believers, but neither side can prove itself right....Therefore I'm thinking we'll find out about it some day. There's certainly something beyond this ridiculous, awkward world...otherwise we wouldn't have souls, feelings, empathy, love, awareness or LIFE. (I apologize if someone doesn't have any of that.lol) we'd be just bodies driven by their own needs...(a lot of people live like that, makes me wonder...) Anyway...I don't know how, but a few years back I lost faith in God. Not the things I've been taught. just the feeling I used to have while praying...it all felt like getting ditched...life turned even uglier,so I stopped hoping. idk what would drive anyone to keep belief...when everything shows that he believes in a fairytale, or has false beliefs about something...Or thinks he knows facts, but has no way to tell if those facts are true, or just made up. sorry for the essay long babbling.. lol
