Some grow big and healthy, while others stay small and never quite mature or reach full potential. Some sway gently in the breeze, while others twist and turn and get tangled up. Some achieve perfect form. Others are not so lucky.
In due season, some display bold, vibrant colors and are admired by many, while others do not and seem ignored. Some eventually release and drift softly down to the ground, while others do not and are torn away by the winds and storms of life. Some never let go. Some return to their roots to repeat the cycle of life, while others are carried away to an unknown resting place. Some are raked up by the influence of others while some are left alone and go where they will. Some join the rest in a pile and willingly conform, while others resist and go their own way. Some go out in a blaze of glory while others lie down quietly and sleep...
"Leaves"
Pete,
Iv'e not thought to this point regarding 'leaves' and yes I like it! Finding a lesson or parralell of some kind for the mind and heart is what writing is so good for. The poem in degrees does so. The way leaves fall, wind and where they are taken, where they go and etc, and etc. This was well considered and I wish I'd wrote it. Cool one!
Blessings,
Kathy

Pete, I'm returning the favor of your review of my work. This is the first piece of yours I've read and though I'm not sure it's a short story, it is a lovely piece, almost a meditation. My only suggestion -- for ease in reading might be to break it into more paragraphs. Well done, indeed.
I love reading, writing, music, nature, God and feeling emotion, not necessarily in that order. To me, these things go hand in hand. My favorite writer is Henry David Thoreau. I think he was a geni.. more..
