Spoken From the Heart...

Spoken From the Heart...

A Story by Phoebe Taylor
"

My personal views on the judgemental society we live in.

"
I am ashamed of the world we live in. People are too afraid to accept themselves for who they are because they're anxious of being judged. I do not agree with this. People should be proud of who they are, embrace every flaw and flaunt every one of them, because that is what makes us who we are. But the sad reality restrains us and stops this from happening. We live in a society where people think that it's okay to be judgemental without knowing a person's story. Suicide is happening all around the world everyday, and the saddest part is that we are the cause... We continue to judge, manipulate, isolate, alienate, tease, bully and hurt the lives of so many, and the worst thing is we believe it's okay. I want to see change in this world. Depression and anxiety are both very real and can be found in millions of us. Which is why we need to be aware of it, accept it and understand its power. People need to realise that it's okay not to be okay. No one can be happy all the time and that is what makes us human. Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.

I don't agree wholly that we are the cause for the suicidal epidemic that is sweeping the world. For sure some people are mean and like to hurt and that can cause people to harm themselves but technology has a massive part to play.
Unless the 'we' we meant was universal than I have to agree P.T.

You can wish all you want. The world will never change. Do not be swayed by this, as I like to call it, "hug the world" bullshit. It is falsehood and lies. The world you seek does not and will not exist.

Amén to all this!! We never know a person until we've spent a day in their shoes, as the saying goes!! This educative rant, as it should be called (rather than a story), exemplifies that saying, and it's expressed with great passion and persistence.....and with the hope that the message will get across. Well done!! Ever attempted making this into an actual story. Coming from someone with such a voice in the theme, you might be the chosen one to make the perfect story out of it.

True indeed.
People are selfish and can't see other ones augmenting. It's really sad though. Let's pray that one day peace conquers and hatred vanishes.
Very sincere and pure thoughts. Loved reading your work. :)
