a lesson learned

a lesson learned

A Poem by Jamie Brooks

someone cries in the middle of the night
wishing for comfort and arms that hold tight
sheets of tears run down their face
wishing to end their hearts futile race

a cold night it has become
a dying soul has come undone
the wishes have ceased
the thoughts are gone
just before the rise of dawn

a person sits alone once again
with their eyes still full of tears
a tragic play has come to an end
a life has gone to be with its kin

a person stands beside them
expression of total aw
they break done and cry the others name
but their life force has gone

arisen to the sky
to find the great father
 and mother waiting
to wipe their tears aside

home at last
the end has came
a new begginnig has begun
to a new life you shall take name
for the last one

you felt nothing but shame
to make things right
and make things go well
to fill your heart
until it swells

time will tell
and it will change
but only you
can love the person
you became
