The Trap

The Trap

A Poem by James Caiden
"

A somewhat creepy poem that popped into my head while in my English class. Enjoy!

"
Click-clack, click-clack
Came the sound from down the way.
The footsteps followed close behind
Of the girl he wanted to stay.
But all she did was run and run,
her shoes left far behind.
She didn't expect to scamper straight in
To the trap he sent her to find.
A door was opened and slammed straight shut,
In order to keep him out.
But arms encircled her, tying her down,
Leaving her unable to shout.
A chuckle flitted through the air,
"You cannot escape me now..."
While he tied her by her feet up high
As if she were but a cow.
A pain then filled her, so intense,
Hot blood dripping down her spine.
It was then that she realized, knew for sure,
That she was going to die...

What do you think? This was just the first draft, so I might change it a bit later, but did you like it? :)
Should I continue it or leave it as is length-wise?

I don't usually like poetry, because they're either light and fluffy or horrendously sappy. This, however, is right up my ally. I love it. It's something different for a change. Well done!
