Waiting For a Friend

Waiting For a Friend

A Poem by Cameron Koontz
"

One night, I was at a friend of mine's house. However, he was not there. So, while I was waiting, I subsequently wrote this poem.

"
Waiting for a friend
One who's ever elusive
He said at ten
But I don't know when

It's turned to a night
Just like the others
One of being free
and writing poetry

I sit in his room
A small, comfy nook
Play Cash on his guitar
and sing about a car

I think about that girl
The one I've longed for
But realize that she
Won't be comin for me

The food is okay
The soda's a bit flat
But nothing I feel
That's really a big deal

Now in solitude
Voices tell me things
New things that I find
As I am watching my mind

Waiting for a friend
Who is sure to take his time
So I believe I won't be rude
and stop eating his food

Hmm.. this is simple and clever! Enjoyable read and it's great that you have such creativity and expression during such a subtle time of just waiting for someone. Well done :)
