The Crijan Kingdom chapter 2A Chapter by samChapter two Emberasos, Crijan “I bring news all the way from Aecrasos, my queen.” Came a voice that carried loudly across the great stone hall. The voice belonged to a man with long silver-white hair that reminded a person of snow glistening off the moon beams. He approached his queen with eagerness. Sapphire slowly curled her crimson red lips up into a sly smile as turned to face her faithful servant Xavier. All those years that he served as guardian to the high queen Arwen following her every command and yet never faltered in turning against them for her, she was grateful. “Well, get on with it then.” She said in an aggressive tone. As much as she valued him, she still did not fully trust the man despite his devotion and love for her. Xavier took a few steps from where he stood towards his queen. “I have heard from some of the palace spies that her High Queen has sent a guardian and a shapeshifter to another world. They were unable to reveal who they were or their exact destination my lady.” He stated as he stared in silence waiting for Sapphire to respond as she reached for the gauntlet of wine awaiting her on the table. This was unwelcome news that she did not care to waste her time on listening too. There was much left to do before moving on to the next stage of her plan. However, knowing her guarding he brought this to her attention for a reason she asked in a soft almost daunting voice “If they don’t know who or where they are going, do they at least have some knowledge on the reasoning behind them leaving?” While waiting for his next reply, she relished the fine red wine that danced in her mouth. “It is from their understanding that they believe to have left for the mortal realm my queen.” The young guardian stated in a quivering voice knowing this news would unsettle his queen’s mood. The gauntlet shattered as Sapphire’s grip tightened on the brim of it. “You are just now telling me this?” She asked as she released the broken cup to fall on the floor. “How dare you not say that at the very beginning of this discussion?” She walked hastily passed Xavier and walked into a room that resembles a bathroom that only had one marble like a pillar in the center of the chamber. Sapphire grabbed the black cloth off of what it was hiding and tossed it onto the floor. She then placed her hands on a crystal looking ball, “Show me Arwen!” The queen commanded as she starred in deep concentration. Fog swirled around in a furious frenzy inside the globe, and a picture slowly emerged of the high queen pacing back and forth in her chambers. Suddenly the doors spring open and several pixies start to talk rapidly. “Queen Arwen, we have finally heard back from them.” Said one of them in a happy tone. While the others danced around her giggling in laughing with excitement filling their eyes and air around them. “Tell me everything, Rose.” She replied as she stopped pacing and sat down on the nearest chair as the fog started to roll in and the image disappeared completely. At that point, Sapphire’s fingers were nearly white from the grip she had on the crystal of Emberasos. “What has she heard?” She asked herself out loud. “Show me the rest.” She commanded yet the ball remained clear. Frustrated and infuriated she marched out of the room as she left she turned towards Xavier. “Cover that thing at once and get as many of those spies of yours to find what she is hiding from me.” “I will know your secret Arwen, and when I do, I will destroy you and everything you hold dear for ruining my life”. She vowed to herself. Power radiated off of her skin with anger that Arwen got everything she desired, she didn’t deserve it all that power and worshiped wasted just because she was born first. Storming in and out of rooms the dark queens searched high and low for the one who may have her answers. How dare she block the crystal from showing me all of what I desired and deserved. “ROWENA, YOU STUPID INSOLENT WITCH SHOW YOURSELF!” the queen Hollard at the top of her lungs. “What can I do for you today my queen?” Asked a soft, delicate voice full of mockery. Sapphire turned towards the voice and saw the insolent witch sitting in a chair next to her thrown. Rowen had long fiery red hair that had a wild, untamed look to it with cat-like green eyes always full of mischief. Many witches were known as hideous looking creatures with warts and boils covering their faces. Along with having long talon-like nails. However, Rowen was only half witch and half Fae and allowed her to have more power than most, and this most certainly helped the dark queen. “I need you to go to the mortal world and gather my followers that are there and have they find out what my sister is up to.” She told her “I need to know at once is that understood?” the Queen asked as she glared at the girl waiting for another one of her smart remarks. “Yes, oh mighty one. However, you already know what she is up too. The prophecy is starting her child should be coming of age soon, and her powers will grow, and you are wasting your time.” Rowena stated “I shall return soon with your answers my queen.” and with a puff of dark gray smoke the witch was gone and had left Sapphire shaking and in an, even more, sour of a mood. She knew, this time, would come, and she would be ready. Her sister’s child won’t be prepared when she strikes, and all of Arwen’s hard work of protecting the Princess of the Fae will be for nothing. Years have passed and none of the shapeshifters the dark queen have sent to the human world “earth” as they call it, have been able to locate the child because of those damn protection spells, but that was about to change. Standing alone Sapphire starts to assemble a new plan action. © 2016 sam |
