It's a Flash Fiction Story about a Parish Priest who becomes an Omen for the Villagers

"

Let me introduce you to Yama. Yama in Indian mythology is the Lord of Death. He carries the dead to their final place of journey. I am an Agnostic but yet I have not annulled my Church membership. During recent times a new Priest was transferred to the Parish. Before he came all things were hunky dory. Beautiful marriages were created in heavenly virtues, consecrated by his predecessor. As soon as the new Priest was ushered in, human lives started crashing. Many people started kicking the bucket. And sad to say, that those who went to eternal sleep were youths who died of accidents and also those who were in the mid years. The people of the village all got flustered and didn’t know what to do? They felt that this Priest was demon possessed like the man at Gadrene who’s thousands of legions were cast into the swine by Jesus. Soon the people started counting lots as to who would be next. They even nicknamed this curious anomaly that the Priest possessed as Priest Yama. Without the Priest’s knowledge whenever he appeared, the villagers used to draw the sign of the cross and lo whisper: “be careful Yama is coming.”
