The Soldier and the Fight

The Soldier and the Fight

A Poem by History of Silence
"

A poem to capture the challenges of this moment in my life.

"
I,
Full of an entrenched urge to write
To redefine the parameters of my plight
To replace this boring black and white
With an exquisite gray: like a fog in May.
Tonight,
I'm the eighteen-year-old soldier
The day before the big fight
O my Crystal Ball, please tell me
Will we land on Normandy alright?
