Conscripted.A Chapter by prymoreConscripted. (Very creative description, I'm tired so you get what you get.)
"Wake up!"
I opened my eyes and blinked until the blurriness lessened. "Oh...damned soldier." "Get up or you'll be shot." The soldier said. I rubbed my neck and found my necklace missing. "You stole it?" "Prisoners don't get it, if you're found not to be a major threat, then you may get it back." I got up and jumped down form the carriage. I looked around, a lavious palace surrounded us. "Get moving." "Fine...fine." "Do you remember anything?" "Yeah...year I remember a bit." "What?" "Velger." "What?" "I'm Velger, and I'll get that necklace back." "I'll make sure to melt it for scrap then." "I'll make sure to execute your family, you're little sister, your mother, hell I'll even find your father and kill him...and your younger brother. The king is waiting, is he not?" "I should shoot you here." "I'll...do it then...I have a right to be buried with my necklace though." "Why is it important?" "It's worth more than you can know...are you going to shot me...or are you going to escort me to your king." "Go ahead, move outside the main path and I'll shot you." I nodded and walked ahead, I entered the palace and glanced around quickly, I started walking forwards, along the main path, never deviating. I was shackled to the wall outside the throne room. The soldier left after being summoned, I closed my eyes and waited. An hour later I was escorted inside, a few guards, the king and the soldier at my back. Before anyone could stop me I stretched my hands and the shackles dissolved, the king held his hand up to his guards. I walked a few feet from the king and bowed. "Who are you?" The king asked. He voice was old, his eyes as well, but his face was young. I spotted my necklace in his lap. "Do you know what that is?" I nodded towards the necklace. "Jewelry." "Hmm...an ancient crest...passed through my family for generations, I'm Velger, I've avoided wars for years...but I'll help you if I get my necklace back, and my freedom at the end of the war." "You're already making demands...the guards aren't the only ones watching you...so don't think you can steal the necklace...in fact try it, you'll fail." He held the necklace up. I pushed my hand towards him and then closed it towards me, I smiled and placed the necklace around my neck. He looked at his hand and then to my neck. "I'm powerful...I can be an asset." "Hmm...how many?" "How many what?" "How many mages are you worth?" "Average, weak, or master mages?" "Average." "Whatever two or three master mages are worth." "You seem confident...a simple teleportation is nothing new to me." "I can burn, freeze, and stop hearts, I can kill ten thousand a day if I get a good sleep and a meal the previous day." "Magic isn't based on food or sleep...I know that." "True, but it can enhance it...it is based...partly at least on the health of the mage." "You'll be allowed to live...but until you prove your worth...you'll clean with your magic...dismissed...and the necklace, give it back." "No." He glared at me. "I won't give you my necklace." "Why? Sentimentality...or does it enhance you." "Sentimentality...it's been with me...my family for a long time." "I'll pay you for it." "A trillion pounds of gold and a billion pure gems of different varieties...then I may part with it." "I can have my guards, my mages take it from you, you can't take them all on." "All that are in this room...I definitely can." "And how many is that?" "Thirty three...not counting you...you have the gift...I can tell from your eyes...voice as well." He stared hard at me for a few minutes then waved his hand. I nodded and turned and followed the soldier out.
