that one person that convinced you that love is real

the day i met you
the ocean’s tide pulled harder
as my heart played it’s favorite song on repeat
the depth in your eyes made me feel
not so alone

you loved me, i loved you back

or at least i thought...

finding out i was replaced
when you told me i was the world
that you’d never be with anyone else
i was your favorite girl

you left me in the changing of the seasons
i feel like i’m the reason
i was trying to deal with the grief
but you just wanted company

and you left.
