ON LOVE

Good morning people! Since February 14 is almost here, let me treat us to a special Val poem. So, here is to LOVE. Hope you enjoy it.

 Valentine Special

 

Some call it the butterfly effect

To some it is a bloom of roses

Perhaps a kiss from a rose, a mirror starring back at you

Maybe a fire that puts out the cold

Or a pillar you can lean on

It makes your world go round

You call it LOVE

 

It is a double edged sword,

Tearing heart from mind and body from soul

It is music, sad music,

Ringing your ears to depression,

Colouring your mood to a deep blue.

Yes! It is a poison

To your sense and reason

A gutter that drains resource, time and energy

A narcotic making you ecstatic

It makes your world go round

That feeling called LOVE

 

To the martyrs, to the Romeos

And Juliets, It transcends life.

Baby, I’d catch a grenade for you (oh boi, u be terminator?)

Yes! The love of God is symbolized

In the cross as Christ blood flows

And His vein empties

To Romeo, to mars, to Christ

That word makes the world go round

The sacrifice of LOVE

 

To Casanova, it is game

 That drives to create isolation

To mirror your needs,

To distract and lead you into temptation

Till two world collides. An ecstasy shared, a night of bliss

And memories made, giving and taking till both are empty of energy

That word makes the world go round

The passion of LOVE

 

I won´t call mine love

But it feels good to have passion in my life

A love to self, a love for life, a love for knowledge

A love for people, a love for air, a love for beauty

And a love for YOU

 

Valentine is almost here

What is it gonna be?

That word makes your world go round
