DespiseA Poem by Czarek OsowskiLook around and you'll know what it's all about.I despise you all, Everyone and each one, I have seen you cutting corners, Talking, giggling, telling jokes, Taking without asking, Asking without a will to know,
I have seen your empty looks That try to penetrate me, That try to make me feel ashamed, That are so hollow that I can hear your words Echoing in their vacuum - And you can’t do anything at all,
I despise you all, Everyone and each one, I have heard you telling lies, And lying, and lying, and keeping lying - As if you could make the lies become the truth - Imaginary stories with no roots,
I have heard your stupid talks, As empty as your heads, That cause no good but wounds, That put me off and make me think Of you as nothing more Than a companionship of jesters,
I despise you all, Everyone and each one, I have seen your false smiles, Assurance of good will, handshakes, Changes for good, mostly for good, As you earnestly claim,
I have seen your glittering suits, Shiny cars and shiny wives, Your houses built with bricks of naivety - They are build on sand, for sure, And will collapse, for they are as weak As your truthfulness,
I despise you all, Everyone and each one, I have heard your ear-piercing prayers, They won’t help you when the time comes - For you were to love your neighbours, But your hearts are filled with hate, I despise you all, Everyone and each one, I have seen your attempts To show your distinctness, To make yourselves feel better at all costs - Even of you look like fools,
I have seen you raising flags, And screaming, marching, screaming, marching, Making the streets become your home, And turning your homes into orgiastic bagnios - Never will you understand that to be proud is to be quiet,
I despise you all, Everyone and each one, I have heard your lulling voices Trying to convince us that it’s all fine And nothing is to be changed - Just because the changes would affect you,
I have heard your cackles, chortles, Your laugh while deceiving others - Never is it clear to you that it will end someday, And you will have to stop laughing And start weeping,
I despise you all, Everyone and each one, I have seen your grimy faces, your eyes, dark eyes, Asking for help, like beggars one the streets, Coming here for help, Giving nothing in return,
I have seen your desert customs And your children wandering around, Looking for a brawl, complaining, Instigating, wearing masks and setting fire, Accusing of intolerance While being even more than that,
I despise you all, Everyone and each one, I have heard your wretched proverbs, Worthless sermons, dubious wisdom - You think it’s the age that makes you wise And you’ll be proven wrong soon,
I have heard your words of doubt Circulating in your veins, Your disbelief and distrust - Since never were you young And never tried to fight, I despise you all.
