It’s That Way With Me

It’s That Way With Me

A Poem by Prolific In Verse

I jump, but I cannot do it alone

Carrying the grand piano of my life

Up the stairs of my impossibilities

I feel so elated, in the adversity

In your hidden half-smile

What have we been through?

It’s like a story that has too many scripts

How can I carry my heart

To a safe place next to you

When I have hidden my riches in steel

And we no longer quarrel

With conveniences of touch or distances

Or with currencies of my return to you

I jump, but return to my destination

Intended or not, I accept the washing and shaving

After so much marveling in the dirt.
