Jammin'

Just a little story telling. Trying to capture a joyful moment.

Music plays at the perfect volume. The notes stream out of the speaker.

It’s just me but I feel as if I have all my closest friends with me.

Dancin’ all around to the beats. The lyrics speak to me and help me move.

Not just the lyrics but the tune. The joy that went into making the music enters me.

I feel so loved. Warm yet cooled off by a breeze. Words of encouragement race through my head and my chest swells with gratitude for the power of music.

My head bobs to even the smallest sounds. Feet tapping. Hips swaying. Shoulders bouncing. Mouth singing along. I am performing for myself and one other.

One other who loves me for all that I am. He gives me strength and courage. He takes delight when he sees me filled with joy.

Filled with love for my jammin’

He has a plan. One only too good to be true. For only he knows it but it will be perfect for me.

I found myself reading this as a message about everyday bee-bopping that dabbled in some hints of spiritual meaning. This is my favorite kind of spiritual writing, which SHOWS instead of telling how to get such-and-such kind of life. I love that you don't go on & on, but you keep it simple, & you stay away from materialistic pursuits. This is just a simple snapshot of what feeling holy can be like in a fresh palpable modern way. All that blathering in your author's notes does not relate to the writing you posted here. You are a great writer & an interesting thinker, so you can stop with the self-deprecating remarks!
