The Forever Train

The Forever Train

A Poem by procrastination
"

Uh. Yeah. I guess. Woohoo. Cool.

"
The Forever Train pulls up to its stop
Hand over your ticket, up the stairs you hop
You can't go back, it's a one-way ride
You don't have any control, just go along with the tide.

The train pulls out from the station.
You don't know where it's headed, no one knows the location.
Maybe to a land where dreams come true
Or maybe a city where everything's blue

Along the way, you encounter many troubles.
Deaths, sicknesses, isn't this ride a struggle?
But you move on, as the train pulls you forward
But the direction is winding, it's never straightforward.

The train stops at another place
On steps a girl with a lovely face
They sit near you, sipping coffee.
You offer them a sweet, maybe a Tim Tam or some toffee.

But another comes on who catches their interest.
He has the face of a model and a body of a gymnast
You compare yourself to his perfection
You critically judge your beautiful reflection

Life goes on, mediocre and boring
It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring.
You want to get off or some form of escape
You can't bear to listen to another "hot fire mixtape"

Another person comes on, he's cute, isn't he?
When you see him, you are shaky on your knees
And this man's affection, you have won
He makes you feel more than just another someone.

He brings color into your black and white world.
You can't wait to see how your life will unfurl.
But when he's gone, your life turns blue.
But the Forever Train goes on, and so shall you
