Hmm. This is interesting. It's quite intense in it's emotion, and yet maintains a real sense of abstraction. It requires a couple of reads and some thought, for sure. very original. For me, this is a poem about a mis-match, two people with very different values, and it could be read in different ways, according to who the final line is directed to. It could represent one person who is very happy-go-lucky, sunny, perhaps unthinking of consequences, and another person who is darker, more serious, but also more appreciative of life in a deep way. It's an interesting juxtaposition. I think this short poem does hold a message about trying to enjoy life in a deeper, more spiritual way, which may on the surface look like you're having less fun, but in fact, you are appreciating life more. Another thing I like about this poem is the feel that the writer is, to some extent, resigned to and accepting of the failings of the other person being addressed. I'm not sure why I get that sense, that's just how it feels to me. This poem is a good, brief, concise representation of how different forces, yin and yang, good and bad, light and dark, play off against each other to create the enormous game that is the universe. Very original, very well done, it's hard to get so much into something this compact.
