The Flight

The Flight

A Story by Priya Tyagi

“Hush! Hush! Go! Go away! Don't you come near me.".

"Ma'am, we are only trying to help. Please! Just listen.”

"I just want to fly. Is that so difficult to understand? My husband is waiting for me. Shh! Shhh! Shhhh!”

"Ma'am, this is the Airport. We will get you a plane. Then you can go meet your husband. Are you with someone?”

“Do you know? He makes the most wonderful chamomile tea and the lemon cakes are just lovely. Little pieces of heaven, he calls them. Ah! my sweet Bob.”

“Yes! Yes! We will take you to your Bob. To your chamomile tea and your lemon cakes.”

“Shhh! Shhh! I can’t hear him. Oh yes! Oh yes! I am coming. I am going to fly, dear. Open your arms, now. Yes! Wide open! Catch me on the other side.”
