A Poem by R. L. Igmen

You think I'm happy now,
I may say "yes", somehow;
But you don't know I can't sleep at night,
Cause there's no one whose hugging me tight.

The only person I desire to hug before I sleep.
Someone whose after a nightmare will stop me weep;
the One I want to see and kiss everyday I wake,
Who will always be strong and brave just for my sake.

I wish and pray that You are here .
I can't utter Your name without a single tear;
My heart's still mourning because You're already gone,
Knowing Your soul is somewhere I feel so much alone.

I miss the way You hug me gently,
And the kisses You gave to me;
I still feel the warmth of Your body,
I will have them here for Eternity.

This was a really lovely poem, though quite sad as well. It was touching and I think a lot of people can relate to this kind of thing. Losing someone you love dearly and knowing you'll never ever forget them.

Tearful sentiments. Losing someone close is like losing a part of your own self. No one can understand the pain and loss that goes on and on with no remorse. Well written.

nice work. really sad and touching poem you have written here. what really struck me was the "You" in the last 2 stanzas. was that intentional? 'cause i've only seen that used when talking about God. anyway good job

The first two stanza's have a sense of longing for the future love who has not yet arrived in your life. I think that adds to the last two stanza's, and the poem overall, since the last two stanza's are clearly about a love who has since been lost and is clearly missed. I think it rounds out the verse over all, with the picture of future and past, the bitter sweet longing and soul wrenching mourning that fills our memories.

Very heartfelt to say the least. Good use of rhyming and read smoothly.
Too me this poem represents the kind of person we all should work to find in our lives...
Nice work overall.
