Looking back on the world...A Poem by primLooking back now i know that things aren't nearly as bad as they could have been, but I'm still thankful for every day. Enjoy.
The line is long, but we can wait
Everyone makes it to death's gate So here we stand 'till our number is called And so it shall be, 'till Death has been falled What is life, but waiting for the end? When you'll greet Death like a long-lost friend And reminisce 'bout blood in your veins A drumming heart, and feeling pain And you'll think to yourself about the life you had: The could be good; the bad, bad But whatever it was, one thing remained: You were alive, so i wouldn't complain Things could be better, or worse Neither of which matters when you ride in that hearse Even though life may not seem worth living Remember that Death is none too forgiving You can never change your mind And then you'll look behind And see that The person you had wanted to be Was always there, comforting you While quietly destroying you She stared you down from the pages of a magazine ...How her eyes would glimmer with and evil glean Perfection, the demon, you pursued above all else And in the process, lost your true self Reality bites, as you quickly learned But still for the limelight you yearned And when you fall, your landing is hard, Which left your soul fragmented and scarred But then you sew the pieces back together And find something beautiful altogether You loved and were loved for who you were And your past was but a battle-scar Life goes on, if you let it Give life a chance, before you end it Through it all, it wasn't that bad The best life you ever had. © 2010 primAuthor's Note
