The Rest Of ForeverA Poem by aj FoxleyHad a bad day. wrote this. I think it stinks, but someone wants me to post more. The rest of forever Everyone looks for things they need, Just the thing to fill the hole. We make our way, through years and days, Led by our hand, by our soul.
I found a niche and filled it, Expanding like a gas. Happy with each transient adventure, As long as each one lasts.
I never grew up. Found it was all a lie. Killing doesn’t make a man. Never try. Never, never try.
Be a father, learn to dance, Be a husband, learn to sing. Be a soldier, and learn to speak. Buy your soul, the tarnished blackened thing.
One day it will be worth it. One day you can rest. But pay for your sins, And cash in all the rest. The day you die, you divvy up. In the black, or in the red. If black, ascend to heaven. If not, forget the dead.© 2012 aj FoxleyReviews
