The light of Vermonill

The light of Vermonill

A Poem by Cricket Kidd
"

for the title a week group. I figured that since I created it, I should participate.

"
A traveler stood
on a lonely hill,
the wind was cold,
and he was still,
the Stranger's name
was Vermonill.

A chilling chuckle
filled the air,
 the Invisible opponent
arrived there
and woke demons with claws
 And matted hair.

Vermonill stood fast!
and raised his hand
a blinding light flashed
through the land
a cry! A shriek! A yell!
A scream! and...
The evil forces
began to disband!

Again! the light
flashed bright and true!
incinerating monsters
through and through
then The light of
Vermonill Grew.

NO! cried the voice
of the dark cackle
as the nefarious army
began to crackle

the glow, then
of that brave light
to that invisible creature
became too Bright
and drove away
the fearsome Blight.

silence shrouded
the gloomy hill,
The Hero slumped,
and then was still.
and out went the light
of Vermonill.

Fantastic! I loved the rhythm to your poem. It was a little scenario in a poem, almost like it could be from a story. Thanks for the great read!
