Earth Lights

Earth Lights

A Story by John Preston
"

Natural earth lights

"

Tis four winters back eyes do see

Oh my goddess my sight do deceive

Cold white are the trees, bushes

below thy is white as snow

All around into fields this sheet does lay

Crackles below thy soles do make

Just myself with four-legged friend

Standing looking this wonderful view

Then from my left, it seemed from a hedge

Ho my, this bright light up to the sky

As bright as Tinkerbelle for a word

No not the shape not round like a ball

Looked pear shape as it went sky wards

One week later so very early this morn

Cold frosty just like before, tis 03.30a.m.

Just left home a few paces on before we turn

My dog by my side there just into that field

I’m looking ahead, then there in that field

One, two, three, four and more behind the trees

falling like stares from heaven not hell.

What are these lights like Tinkerbelle?

Turn into lane, thither on near my one

last week

Now I see one, two three, four is their more?

In shock as I see them falling so close

No not falling, but shooting down

These bright orange " yellow lights I see

Therefore, up they go and down they come

These I believe are just earthlights.

Have you seen a rainbow on its side?

Not a normal one, one see’s

It is on its side like a layered cake

Up, up this layered multi coloured

Sight do see.
