DoveA Poem by prema DOVE I could never flap my wings Without the glare of other's eyes Conspicuous me then learned to love shame I am the dove among the pigeons. I could never fly with the flock Without stalkers following me Static me then learned to love inertia I am the dove among the pigeons. I could never peck with my mates Without feeling the greed of others Hungry me then learned to love deprival I am the dove among the pigeons. I could never coochie coo with my lover Without the privacy sans others Solo me then learned to love solitude I am the dove among the pigeons. I could never nestle in my abode Without others entering it Desperate me then learned to love fear I am the dove among the pigeons. I 'm the dove among the pigeons The wounds inflicted on my mind Let be the asset of my soul I have no soul, I am the soul. © 2020 premaAuthor's Note
