Doubt

Doubt

A Poem by prema

                             Doubt

Doubt is me when I visit bookshop
which one to buy --for
You cannot judge a book by its cover.
Doubt is not me when I open up a book
How to contain its content --for
I am sure of what to accept or reject.
Doubt is me when I visit saree* shop
Which color  to buy --for
Each color is unique.
Doubt is not me when I dress up
              How to look good-- for
I know that make up wears away.
Doubt is me when I ride to and fro
Is it the same road ? --for
My eyes catches what it missed in the ride earlier.
Doubt is not me when I aim for a destination
How to reach is my only concern --for
I need not worry about coming back.
Doubt is me when I am happy
How to express it --for
Multitude are the ways of expression.
Doubt is not me when I am sad
How to suppress it -- for
Solitude is the best way of suppression.

Doubt is me when I see identical twins
How to call them by their names? --for
You can only look at them outwardly not inwardly!
Doubt is not me when I see places of worship
              Which God to pray --for
Different names and forms to one Almighty!
