Yet he was a man

Yet he was a man

A Poem by prema

               Yet he was a man
There was a lady who loved a man
Very same man who led two lives
The exterior she took to be true
The other she had to discover.

Day after day she strove hard
Doing things unknown till then
To get a word of appreciation
Even a glance would have made her day.

But all her efforts were in vain
He neither criticized nor acknowledged
She hoped to see him change
Without aware ,it's easier to see a white crow.

Years rolled by, he remained the same
She bettered all for him
Applauds from many came her way
Still he had no words for her.

Yet he was a man
The tribe who lavish praises on their beloveds
For her alone ,he has no such frivolous attitude
Always the self ,the steel exterior.

Such is the painful angst and sorrow of unrequited love 😔

Though, many suffer from this anomaly of un-sated desires and hopeful wishes, few possess the skills to express it so openly and vividly as you have here, Dear Poetess. Poetically, I admire your voice and manner in which you've displayed this work in Free verse Quatrain form, with such depth of emotion and feeling one cannot help but be pulled into you, into your moments of passionate hunger to be recognized and loved.
I have no way of knowing if this is fact or fiction, but one thing is for certain … you definitely know about feelings and how to express them.
Love the softness of blue, too.

Excellent poeting, Fine Lady-Poet … KUDOS for the heart-touch! ⁓ Richard 🍃
