A Simple Man

A Simple Man

A Poem by Pratik Mishra
"

From once upon a time to now...

"

Once upon a time

 I wished for the stars

Now I wish for a garden full of flowers

Funny how things have changed,

I have become a simple man.

Once upon a time

I begged mom for toys

Now I buy her things of her choice

Funny how things have changed,

I have become a simple man.

Once upon a time

I cried for the last piece of bread

Now I give it to the needy instead

Funny how things have changed,

I have become a simple man.

Once upon a time

I wished to travel the whole world

Now my only world is my little girl

Funny how things have changed,

I have become a simple man.

Once upon a time

I fought a lot with my dad

Now his absence fills me with deep regret

Funny how things have changed,

I have become a simple man.

Once upon a time

I was a boy

Never wanting childhood to end

Funny how things have changed

I have become a husband, a dad and a simple man.
