Desert Rose: Part 2

Desert Rose: Part 2

A Poem by PP
"

The Midnight Drama!

"
Faint rattles from underneath;
she could hear..
Like a riverlet oozing out from its source..
The sand
...has never felt so cold
Is it the sign of the Rose afterall..?
Under the rocks that she lay
Is there the life she's awaited ?
Does the gravel beneath her bosom;
Hold the immortal petals of gold..?
In an anxious spur of tension
and a spin of anxiety..
She swallows hope
With a distinct gulp of positivity..
With not a moment to spare..
She takes out the sword..
She ravages through the boulders
that was once her temporary sleeping spot..
Then she sees...
A very thin stream of water
She is overjoyed..
Desert has its own language
She could feel chatting with it
in her silent voice..
The smell was divine
Like perfume made from
dissolved souls of beautiful men and women
The scent of aromatic 'life'
She couldn't resist the sniff
As she touched the slightly wet sand bay..
On her knees, she creeped to follow the trail..
At the end of the rainbow..there is the pot of gold they say..
But...
Her heart sank ocean deep
Almost abandoned her body and drifted away..
When she realised the source of her excitement
was a little hole in her sheepskin water jacket...
Midnight desert's drama..
What a scene she has created..
There were no voices of applause!!'
Only silent trickle of sweat..

Magnificent write. Seems to be a struggle to thrive in a world that leaves one feeling drained. I don't know, it's early morning here and I'm grasping for words.:P
