Please Do Not Read This

A Story by Pranav Malhotra

Its funny that even after reading the title you decided to read further. But, I urge you to stop reading this article any further. Seriously, there is nothing interesting in this passage. There is no tell tale, no romance, no gossip, no diet meal plans, no blonde jokes, no celebrity wardrobe malfunction, no political mockery, no hidden sarcasm, and definitely no naughty bedroom secrets. There is practically no reason for you to go on any further, so Please stop reading NOW.

By now I presume that you are definitely not in a mood to listen. I wonder why you are reading this even after being obstructed repetitively. They say that the greatest need of the 21st century man is the need to be entertained, engaged and involved. People watch TV, wait in day long queues to buy a new mobile phone, flirt in clubs eyeing for a date, numb their senses over a cold beer in a sweaty concert, travel miles to visit an amusement park.  You should stop reading this right away. Look away ! The only thing that catches my attention is that you could be doing anything else in the world right now, yet you chose to read something that you were specifically asked not to.

Among the sacrifices made to obey instructions there is not one that equals the pleasure obtained in outraging them.

I really enjoyed the read and you are so right about forbidden fruit tasting the sweetest; the title grabbed my attention and practically forced me to read the piece. Very good idea and now all I can think about is elephants riding bicycles.

Human nature is so predictable. Tell us not to, and of course that's all we'll want to do. Witty, well written, and wryly meaningful.

I decided to be a sheep today and follow instructions, get in the que, follow the crowd, not think for myself. I didn't read it. I lie. I read it. But after I read it i took time to think about last night with my significant other and what a great time we had. Life has been very busy, in fact I can't keep up the pace much longer My point is, I was thinking that we need to be good to ourselves and have more evenings like last night. I mean, we not only love each other, but LIKE each other very much and we have a great time together and time together is so important, we need to give ourselves more of it. What could be more important than that, except some quality alone time once in a while.
I want to thank you for giving me this little corner to do some thinking
Oh, I better do a review, too.
This piece is so psychological. :):):)

Am I really supposed to say something good about this? I don't see the point of it at all.

As a Psychologist, I am unimpressed by your cheap attempts at using the brain's predilections against it.

I displayed 'ironic deviance' by not reading the whole piece. ;)

It is easier to resist when you teach resistance.
