Tears on threshold

Tears on threshold

A Poem by prajakta

Stung by poisonous darts of words
Choked by the imposing hands of love
Something strange creeps up silently into the heart
Trying to force down beads of tears to soften the soul charred.

Anger and disappointment win over
Forcing back those beads into the dreamy sockets as ever
The smothered soul deprived of the soothing showers
Is tormented like the hearts of seperated lovers.

But the unstrung adamant cords of the heart
Seeking respite and a fresh start
Mechanically strike the loose ends
Bringing down the tranquilizing beads to help the soul mend.

They pull us back from empty voids
They mop up the souls soiled
The finest virtue human nature holds
Are the beads of tears on threshold...
