Love for Darkness

Love for Darkness

A Poem by Poetic Nuance
"

It is about the love for darkness common among a weak multitude & the strong few who swap one for the other.

"
In the deep confines of the mind,
Lies a darkness,
Blinding in its depth, I find
This inky blackness.
Fearful am I, to dwell
Long in its presence,
Frightened by the swell,
Of love for its essence.
But what if sins desired,
Are not evil at its source?
What if good is inspired,
By bad as it's guiding force?
Is it respect for evil,
That makes good, virtue?
Is mankind so feeble,
That it's beyond most purview?
Why this pull of the dark,
That many can't resist?
What can provide the spark,
That will rein in the beast?
The answer dear friends,
Is love & love alone.
A power than mends,
As the light is shone.
The more you disperse,
Stronger will ensue it's flow,
Indulge, for it transcends,
And forever bask in it's glow.

Author's Note

Poetic Nuance
The title is both poison & antidote. It means one & also the other, when one substitutes.

Hello. I’m a bit unsure of what to call you. Can I call you Poetic Nuance? Anyways… this poem is outstandingly powerful in its portrayal of love as the one true deliverer from the darker paths through which the strayed (in this respect) travel… “The answer dear friends, Is love & love alone. A power than mends”. This was the impression I got at first glance. Then I read your comments and it became all about your perceptive point of view. Overall very effective use of metaphorical language. I had quite the intriguing read. Thanks for the share.
