Love (A short poem)

Love (A short poem)

A Poem by Poetic Nuance
"

The promise of love, realised.

"

One day did I hear, a knock at the door,

I paused, thinking, who was it for?
I asked aloud,"Whom have you come to see"?
The voice said, "I am love & I have come for thee"
I jumped up, rushing, should destiny tear us apart,
Overjoyed in love, opened to you, the doors of my heart,
And silently, our lives in that moment did intertwine,
As I clasped your searching, outstretched hand with mine
And an earnest prayer then did arise in my mind
Forever shall this bond be, that we have thus duly tied,
For no strings it is that has bound us together,
Behold! For it is two hearts that have fused into one another.

A beautiful poem. I like the feel of old and new words working together create good place and possibilities. A very good ending to the excellent poetry.
