SeparationA Poem by Poetic NuanceThe feeling of pain a woman may feel during separation.I open my box of memories,
To savour any sweet remnants, Only to find them bitter, turned Crawling with your lies & hatred. I take each one out slowly, The prayers that never ended, The sweet kisses of love, The many breathless moments we shared. The peals of joyful laughter, The joining hands against unknown future, The new lives that we welcomed The home we built together. The best years of life, lay sacrificed Lonely eyes face the unknown, Feigning strength in indifference, As you left me behind, alone. The countless hours we spent planning, The hopes & dreams we had woven, Now lay broken & shattered, By the approving blows of a hammer wooden. Not once did you recall those moments, Nor show that you ever cared, Heartlessly did you go on, Easily, like old skin, shed. The million pieces of the heart, I left them alone, untouched Smiling brightly for the little ones, All love in them now centered. But alone in the night, In the silence of my bed, With the help of painful tears, I pull them together to mend. © 2014 Poetic NuanceReviews
